Old Quarry House is ideal for entertaining friends and family, or just being alone in the woods. A perfect three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath, newly built modern home minutes away from downtown Catskill, NY. Designed for melding indoors and out, every room of the house opens to nature, with the main bedrooms opening to private patios with seating, and the great room exposed on both sides with huge sliding doors.
In warmer months, enjoy a private picnic area with a swimming hole and rock beach on the Kaaterskill Creek. Enjoy skiing and snowboarding only 30 minutes from the house in the winter.

Designed for Entertaining
The great room is centered by a 12 foot marble waterfall countertop, anchored by a 48” Italian double oven and 8 burner range. On the side patio outside, you’ll find an outdoor kitchen and a massive Camp Chef griddle. You can make breakfast for 10 in 15 minutes. Trust us, we’ve done it.
Everything you need for entertaining from plate and glassware to thoughtful cutlery, sharp chef’s knives, dutch oven, baking sheets, and all the stuff you always wish a rental had. Inside, the dining room seats eight comfortably and another al fresco dining table on the covered patio awaits.
Indoor/Outdoor Living
We build Old Quarry House to maximize the balance between indoor and outdoor living. With two huge sliders in the great room opening to picturesque wooded views of the nearby mountain and the creek below, enjoy the sounds of rushing water and birds from the raised porch or the covered patio.
Each room at Old Quarry House has large sliding doors, with the Primary and Main Guest bedrooms offering private patios.
A separate patio to the side of the house offers access to a stone and grass yard area, a fire pit, and an outdoor kitchen with a large Camp Chef grill.
Down the road a hundred yards, the creekside picnic area offers access to Kaaterskill Creek for bird-watching and river activities and another grill area with a second fire pit.
For Little (and Big) Kids
In addition to the acres of wooded hills and stone boulders to explore, build mini forts and hunt for frogs, we wanted to make sure kids of all ages had lots of options for play. The second guest room can accommodate four adult guests in the two full beds, but is also a great place for a slumber party.
The second guest room is equipped with a second large-screen TV and an XBOX with two controllers, enabled with Game Pass. We’ve stocked kids books and board games, drawing paper, and coloring tools for the inner artist.
About Us
For the last four years, our family has been coming to this special place in the Catskills to camp, swim and escape from Brooklyn. We didn’t intend on building a house at first, we just loved camping down by the creek. But we met our friends at Blackstone Builders and the rest was history.
We built Old Quarry House as a place where we could bring our friends and family and hopefully one day our kid’s kids would share it with theirs. In the meantime, we’re sharing it with you. We hope you love it as much as we do.
